Summer Ellis has become such a sweet friend through our visits to Magnolia Market for vendor fairs that when she approached us about collaborating on a collection of necklaces it was a no-brainer! We’ve joked before that if Val Marie Paper was a jewelry company, it would be Summer Ellis Bijouterie. Val doesn’t wear a lot of jewelry, but has begun wearing a couple of her pieces because of how minimal, but beautiful they are. The heart behind each piece that she creates has an intentional meaning and these pieces we designed with her are no exception.
Half the battle with prayer is keeping it at the forefront of our minds. In a physical world that’s clamoring for our attention, we love the fact that a piece of jewelry around our necks can remind us that there’s more going on than what we see—that we’re invited to talk to the Lord continually throughout the day.
We hope you enjoy learning a little bit more about each piece and why it was selected! A small quantity is available in our shop for a limited time. (And if you’re reading this on the week it was published—there’s still time to purchase for Mother’s Day!)
AMEN
This word is the transliteration of a Hebrew word meaning “so let it be”. When we close our prayer with “amen” we are expressing agreement with God on the matter He’s called us to pray for. Have a long-term prayer request on your heart? Let this be a reminder of agreement with the Lord however He should lead.
REVIVAL
This one word encompasses the prayer on our hearts at Val Marie Paper for our community and the world beyond. There is so much He has in store for those who come to Him with pure hearts and empty hands. As you wear this necklace, let it remind you that there’s a bigger picture, that the Lord is at work and He wants YOU to join Him. Read some more thoughts about revival here.
PRAY BIG
A sweet friend in our launch team for Val’s book, Grumpy Mom Takes a Holiday, kind of coined this phrase for us. When we prayed big for the impact of that book, we saw God move in ways we couldn’t have put together ourselves. Let this be a reminder that He has “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20) in mind, so we can come before Him boldly—nothing is too big to ask.
Besides, being a reminder for ourselves, what a great conversation starter these necklaces could be! For those that ask, “What does that say?” You can respond, “Oh, it’s to remind me to pray! What can I pray for you about?” We love when a product is more than a product—when it leads you to act on the things the Lord has called you to!
